Bought two of these speakers to replace my bose system, had bose 301 8” speakers in front bose center, two cubes in the back, and a 15” cerwin vega 400watt sub woofer and now 8060st’s in the front 8060hd in the center 8080 bipolar’s in the back, and no more sub woofer needed. The difference is night and day I kid you not,I bought these on 5 reveiws kinda scarry spending over $3000 on speakers you nevrer heard before. The sound is amazing not to mention the massive bass that these little tens put out,way more than i needed no distorsion CLEANIST BASS I’VE EVER HEARD.Movies, games ”OH MY”your in for a treat if grab up a pair of these and the 8060hd center, ther is so much I’ve been missing out on from movies and games.

These are fantastic. I have never heard a better sounding speaker in my life. You can hear these at Best Buy in their “top end” Magnolia section if you want to hear them before you buy them on Amamzon. The bass on these made it an obvious choice for me. I have an open room and didn’t want wires all over for a surround setup but wanted bass so I went with these, a Denon receiver and a Definitive Tech center and wow it fills the room and is better than I ever expected. These are well worth the money! They rarely go on sale – so if they do snatch them up.

My dad built a theater room in his house and has Definitive Technology speakers, not these ones but the “previous generation” of this model basically (almost identical specs). They sounded amazing and shook the floor during explosions. Impressed, I knew I could buy Def Techs in the future “blindly,” without having heard any particular model in person. I did that with these and I was right. My cheap Sony SS-F6000s were amazing considering the price, but I was ready to upgrade, and you really do get what you pay for. These have awesome sensitivity… I had my receiver set to default to volume level 30 when turned on, so in the mornings I could turn it on and listen to music as I get ready for work. Now I have to drop it to 10, because the Def Techs at 30 are incredibly loud compared to the Sonys. Gotta love the efficiency of higher-end speakers. The entire sound range is perfectly balanced. Crystal clear. The bass is POWERFUL and solid. My first test came unexpectedly. After breaking them in with many hours of music at fairly low volume, I finally turned them up a bit and started watching one of the latest Breaking Bad episodes. Everything was of a moderate volume, until a body fell, and my entire room shook! I thought something actually fell in my room. The woofers are incredible. Door slams sound so realistic that on more than one occasion, no joke, I’ve gotten a tiny adrenaline shot to the stomach when hearing them through the speakers. I keep getting tricked. They’re also very thin (width-wise), long but not terribly long, and tall, but very sleek.

Be VERY careful unpacking them. They’re packaged extremely well, but there’s not many places to safely grab onto these. There are speakers everywhere up and down all sides of the towers. You don’t want to accidentally poke or press on one of them! Anyway, definitely recommend these in particular, and Definitive Technology in general.
