Inexpensive and perfect replacement for the original one. This one even comes with a car charger adapter! My cat barfed in the OEM charger. Right in it. Bad kitty
Did you know that if a cat throws up in a battery charger, the little prong/springs get eaten up and will not work anymore? I know! I was as surprised as you are.

|Not reliable, possibly bad for your battery.,
A good battery charger must charge the battery at an ideal rate and turn itself off after full charge. I cannot say that about this unit.
At first, it seemed to do so. But after just a couple of uses, I could no longer trust that the unit would shut off, or even charge completely.
Sometimes the unit seemed excessively hot, along with the battery. This can damage the battery. At other times the battery did not seem to be completely charged after a prolonged period of charging. It charged just fine in the Nikon charger.
One of the most desirable things about the unit was that it can charge the battery from a “cigarette lighter” in your car. This feature stopped working shortly after trying it the first time.
You get what you pay for. In this case, not much.

|Excellent charger – great value for the price,
The charger comes with a 12V DC plug for charging in a car. The charger can also be used from an AC source. It comes with an American socket but also includes a pluggable socket that will work in most European countries. The charge status is clearly indicated by a LED that turns from Red (charging) to Green (charge complete). It is very lightweight but does not feel cheap.
